As HH Angus approaches the end of our first century in business, I am very proud to lead a company that has become an icon in the consulting engineering industry. Thriving for so many years speaks to something beyond sound and stable business acumen. It underscores our ability to serve our clients’ interests by drawing on both a vast body of detailed experience and on the development of new ideas, technology, methods and trends in building.
We were among the first in our industry to understand and design sustainable buildings, well before there was even a name for it. We engineered the first district heating system in Canada. We designed and engineered the mechanical and electrical elements for the first skyscraper in Canada (Cadillac Fairview’s TD Tower), and we were the first to design a video wall for an operating room (St. Joseph’s Healthcare, Hamilton)
These approaches are now or soon will be standard practice, but at the time, they required fresh new ideas and techniques, developed for our clients by the same brand of creative and innovative minds working at HH Angus today. Every day, on every project and for every client, our outstanding team stretches themselves further, to innovate and define the future direction of the engineering profession. We work closely with our clients to define building needs, to understand business goals and to determine how to make structures and systems more efficient. As a strategic partner, we engineer the most effective and appropriate solutions for the entire lifecycle of a building, while respecting the bottom line. Our ‘total package consulting’ means we deliver not only mechanical and electrical engineering design, but also strategic planning, analysis, project management, lighting, vertical transportation and the ongoing operation of buildings. We are a broad scope partner.
A building is a legacy, not just for today, but for the years ahead. We help our clients define their facilities for the future, by delivering flexible, energy efficient and sustainable designs that are nimble enough to serve the needs of today’s stakeholders, as well as generations and technologies to come.
