Art Gallery of Ontario - Transformation AGO
Founded in 1900 by a group of private citizens as the Art Museum of Toronto, the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) is now the 10th largest art museum in North America, with a facility of 486,000 square feet.

In 2002, the AGO announced its plans for expansion and redesign by Toronto born, world renowned architect, Frank Gehry. The expansion (97,763 sq. ft.) and renovation (187,000 sq. ft) project is comprise Transformation AGO, the museums $500 million project planned for completion in 2008. The space for viewing art at the AGO will increase by 47% in the reimagined building.
