When built, the EPCOR Tower was Edmonton’s first high rise office tower in 20 years. It is located at the gateway to the downtown core and, at 28 storeys, is one of the tallest and most distinctive buildings in the city. The Tower was selected as one of Canada’s most environmentally advanced buildings, and featured at the World Sustainability Conference in Helsinki, Finland in 2011.
Vertical Transportation systems for the building consist of six low-rise elevators, six high-rise elevators, one dedicated service elevator and three parking shuttles. The Tower incorporates a range of sustainable design, construction and operational features and is targeting LEED® Gold certification. A high performance exterior wall system is a key feature of the sustainability targets.
The overall development of the site, known as Station Lands, covers four linear city blocks and is expected to provide more than 240,000 m² (2,500,000 ft²) of office, retail, hotel and residential living.
