Innovation Magazine features HH Angus project, BC’s Royal Jubilee Hospital

Innovation Magazine recently featured BC’s Royal Jubilee Hospital.  HH Angus provided all mechanical, electrical and vertical transportation consulting engineering for this state-of-the-art 400,000 square foot, 500-bed acute care and psychiatric facility. The Patient Care Centre was designed to LEED Gold standard, delivering a high performance building that is both sustainable and green.  Innovations include rainwater harvesting, 100% fresh air with heat recovery and user-controlled environment.

The first truly digital hospital, in British Columbia, the Patient Care Centre has end-to-end IP-based network infrastructure, connecting caregivers and patients more reliably and securely than had been possible to date.  Real-time patient and equipment tracking, auto call-up of patient records when staff enter a patient room and integration of patient records onto TV sets are some of the digital advances in patient care.
