Paul Keenan named Division Director, Health
Paul Keenan, P.Eng, PE, C.Eng., LEED® AP, Principal, has assumed the leadership of HH Angus’ healthcare portfolio. Paul brings to the position a clear understanding of construction methodologies and a track record of engineering creative solutions to complex building systems. He also leads HH Angus’ Sustainability Committee and often speaks about the firm’s sustainable design initiatives.
In his new role, Paul is responsible for the operations and business development of HH Angus’ health-related work across Canada, including acute care, mental health, long term care, rehabilitation hospitals and clinics. HH Angus’ experience in the healthcare field is extensive, with over 20 million ft2 of healthcare facility operational excellence and over 10 million ft2 of healthcare facilities designed in the last 5 years alone.
Paul joined HH Angus in 1995 and, by 2002, was a principal of the firm, responsible for hospital, laboratory, university and industrial design. In 2004, he transferred to our UK office to lead engineering operations in London, and played a key role in our work on multiple buildings at the Canary Wharf development. Paul returned to Toronto in 2007 in the Healthcare Division and, by 2010, he was promoted to Division Director – Commercial.
A few of Paul’s signature projects include the recently-opened Hospital for Sick Children’s Peter Gilgan Centre for Research and Learning; Barclays Bank HQ in London, UK; Cadillac Fairview’s Infrastructure Renewal program for the iconic Toronto Dominion Centre; Infrastructure Ontario’s Forensic Sciences Complex and the University of Guelph’s Science Complex, as well as taking the lead role on numerous P3 pursuits, including the New Oakville Hospital for Halton Healthcare.
Paul is succeeded as Director in HH Angus’ Commercial Division by Kevin O’Neill, P.Eng., LEED AP BD+C, Principal.
