Our Commercial Division’s Tenant Group took on the challenge of designing extensive renovations to eBay’s new Toronto offices – a 31,300 ft2 post and beam heritage space which is, in fact, two buildings connected by a corridor bridge.

Some of the challenges included: establishing height and location for the new ductwork, and working within the low, exposed ceilings; the need for additional fresh air, addressed with a make-up air system; and the existing electrical supply, which could not be upgraded, so our team needed to balance the loads to integrate the new rooftop fresh air unit and additional AC systems required for LAN and conference rooms. All of these added to the existing electrical load. At the same time, Angus lighting worked between the client’s designers and furniture manufacturers to achieve the correct levels of lighting.
