The Queen’s University campus, excluding West Campus, comprises more than 50 buildings totaling over 520,000 m2 of gross floor area. In the capacity of Prime Consultant and Mechanical and Electrical Engineers, we are assisting Queen’s in managing its infrastructure. Our ongoing involvement at the campus helps keep systems operational by upgrading infrastructure and engineering additions which enable campus expansion and improve reliability. Recent work includes an evaluation, audit and upgrading over 6,000 metres of the steam distribution system; serving as the Owner’s Project Engineers for the new 15 MW Cogeneration Facility; and providing mechanical and electrical engineering services for refitting the Cancer Research Facility of the Neuroscience Institute. The space includes an MRI, electronics labs, acoustics labs and surgery rooms for non-human primates.
